Choosing the perfect LED shaving cabinet
An LED shaving cabinet gives you the lit mirror and the storage in one piece, and it's the tidiest way to light a vanity because the cabinet hides the wiring. All are hardwired by an electrician, most have a power point inside for the shaver or toothbrush, and most include a demister and a motion or touch sensor.
Choose the light first: backlit cabinets glow softly with colour-changing light, while frontlit cabinets carry a frosted band with dimming, the better choice if you do makeup at the cabinet.
Widths run from 450mm singles for a 600 vanity to 1800mm oval cabinets for a double, in white, black and natural oak, plus gold or silver frames. Semi-recessing is possible on most; the carcass depth is on the product page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Shaving cabinet questions
Can the cabinet be recessed into the wall?
Often, yes. Most of our cabinets can be semi-recessed, with the carcass sitting inside a stud wall and the mirror door proud of it. Fully recessing is only possible on certain models, so check the product page or ask us before the wall goes up. Wall-hung works for every cabinet.
How deep is it, and will it fit my wall?
Most carcasses are 120 to 150mm deep, and the exact depth is on every product page. A standard 90mm stud wall takes a semi-recessed cabinet with 30 to 60mm sitting proud.
Which way do the doors open?
Doors open 90 to 115 degrees, so leave a little clearance if the cabinet sits in a corner. Some models let you choose the hinge side at installation; on others the hinge side is fixed, and the product page says which.
Can two cabinets sit side by side?
Yes. Choose a model with a reversible hinge so the two doors open outwards from the centre, or leave a small gap between fixed-hinge cabinets so each door can swing fully.
Are the shelves adjustable?
On nearly every cabinet, yes. Shelf heights are on the product page if you have a tall bottle in mind.
Is the inside of the door mirrored?
Many doors are mirrored inside as well as out, which is handy for the back of your head. The product page says which.
Do the doors soft-close?
Soft-close hinges come on some models, and the product page says which. Others close on magnets, which is quieter than it sounds.
Do LED cabinets need an electrician?
Yes, they're hardwired like any LED mirror, which also keeps the cable out of sight. Most have a power point inside for your shaver or toothbrush, plus a demister and a sensor or touch switch. The carcasses are moisture-resistant board with a laminate finish, so steam doesn't bother them.

How long does delivery take?
Metro orders usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days from dispatch, with tracking emailed the moment it leaves.
Where do you deliver?
Australia-wide, and delivery is free. We can't deliver to PO boxes, so please use a street address.
What if it arrives damaged?
Our delivery drivers handle every mirror with extreme care, but in the unlikely event it arrives damaged, just let us know within 7 days with a few photos and we'll ship a replacement free of charge, with new tracking.
Can I return or exchange it?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, in its original condition and packaging.
